I wasn't expecting to sail today with the wind offshore and I was booked into a nightshift leaving Felixstowe at 3:30, so Mag and I spent a lovely day relaxing in the garden and biking to Landguard :) Then I drove the 18 miles to work with a mate only to be told the job was cancelled and rescheduled for tomorrow night and they agreed to pay us 3 hours so all was not lost! On the way home I checked out The Dip and found 14 mph of wind from the East so decided to get my gear as it was so warm. I was rigged and on the water by 5:45 and to start with there was plenty of wind but I was having trouble keeping upwind then realised that my boom had come unclipped at the rear so I fixed that and applied more outhaul which improved my upwind sailing but the wind was dropping all the time and by the time Swainy was ready to sail it was very light.Fingers crossed for abit more breeze this week ???
